Sketching and Sticker Making !

 




    For my senior project we were tasked with sketching this weekend! I sketched up a bunch of concepts for my series of mental health work. I thought about coming up with a little character that the viewer could relate to rather than just another human related ad. I thought this would bring a lighter tone to the subject of mental health since it can be quite dark. I thought that would be a cute idea and I gave him a name; Copey. (Deriving from the word cope) Since we cope with mental illness, his name is therefore Copey.
Also Bonus stickers at the end for the senior show in April that I might include as a final deliverable.

    Love learning more about the design process! My roommate graduated from Bradley as a graphic design major, and I know firsthand how much time and effort goes into your senior portfolios.     Oh wow! I like seeing the process of where someone gets when being artistic. I liked the way you brought an animation to what we deal with everyday. I can't wait to hear more about the show you have on April and hopefully see more artwork.

    I love this! I think graphic design is a super cool major and I love the light you brought to mental health. Sometimes I feel like if I talk about it like it isn't this big scary thing it's easier to get through.

 This week I took a small break from Copey work, and have continued work on my other portfolio pieces. These are posters for the women rights movement about Women Support Women.  In an effort to promote posivity and female empowerment, women have been sharing photos or videos of themselves on social media expressing their love for being a woman. There is that stigma that girls can be mean to other girls for some pretty stupid stuff, so I wanted to join in on the conversation by creating these posters. I thought they provided a powerful message on body image, making friends, and being there for the women in our lives.

SUNBOX: Oatmeal the fun way

     For my final reworked project in my capstone class, I wanted to redo my packaging assignment from last year. It had so much potential but I think because it was our last project that I just lost some creative steam. But here is my chance to make it more functional, and like an actual product that could be seen on shelves. Instead of having an entire meal fit into this to-go container, I decided to focus on the main course of the meal, Oatmeal. I changed the standard oatmeal with Oatmeal Bombs (like hot chocolate bombs but with oatmeal instead) and thought it would be more modern that way. This was alot of fun to rework and I definitely like new version (Left side) this more than the old version (in the back right).

Final Copey Calendar Pages

  I have finally finished my calendar for Copey! He was sent off to the printers and I should receive the actual calendar sometime next week. These photos are showing how I will display the Ai file in my printed tabloid sheets for the portfolio. I hope to upload a photo of the real calendar when it comes in. Im so excited! The exhibition show is at the end of the month and im super nervous but excited at the same time. Thanks for the love on Copey yall.
