Design Thoughts

     For my final reworked project in my capstone class, I wanted to redo my packaging assignment from last year. It had so much potential but I think because it was our last project that I just lost some creative steam. But here is my chance to make it more functional, and like an actual product that could be seen on shelves. Instead of having an entire meal fit into this to-go container, I decided to focus on the main course of the meal, Oatmeal. I changed the standard oatmeal with Oatmeal Bombs (like hot chocolate bombs but with oatmeal instead) and thought it would be more modern that way. This was alot of fun to rework and I definitely like new version (Left side) this more than the old version (in the back right).

My calendar finally arrived for Copey! It turned out so nice and im glad I went with Canva to print. They sent it to me sooner than expected which is such a relief. My vision became a reality, its so surreal seeing something youve been working on for months become a tangible object.  

  I have finally finished my calendar for Copey! He was sent off to the printers and I should receive the actual calendar sometime next week. These photos are showing how I will display the Ai file in my printed tabloid sheets for the portfolio. I hope to upload a photo of the real calendar when it comes in. Im so excited! The exhibition show is at the end of the month and im super nervous but excited at the same time. Thanks for the love on Copey yall. 

 This week I took a small break from Copey work, and have continued work on my other portfolio pieces. These are posters for the women rights movement about Women Support Women.  In an effort to promote posivity and female empowerment, women have been sharing photos or videos of themselves on social media expressing their love for being a woman. There is that stigma that girls can be mean to other girls for some pretty stupid stuff, so I wanted to join in on the conversation by creating these posters. I thought they provided a powerful message on body image, making friends, and being there for the women in our lives. 

 Started working on the top portion of my calendar for Copey! These are not in correlation with any specific month. They each represent what it is like to cope with mental illness and the typical symptoms of what it feels like in a visual way. Copey is here to ease the viewer into how it may seem in a persons mind when coping with mental illness. These were alot of fun to do! These are just the first drafts and will soon go into editing. Let me know what yall think, which ones do you think are the most accurate in terms of representation?

      This is Tater (like tater tot)! No Copey or portfolio content this week. I am burnt out lol. Instead I have been spending time with my cat and my nephew over spring break to decompress. He is my favorite little guy and ive been so looking forward to seeing him! He is just as happy as ever and was happy to see me. Have a good break everyone!!
